Migration of young people from rural areas is an inexorable component of the socio-economic change taking place throughout the developing world. How this migration affects the well-being of older age parents who remain behind is a matter of considerable debate.
 
Based on a study conducted by Prof. John Knodel, this publication examines the impact of migration in Thailand on intergenerational solidarity.
