Addressing Gender-based Violence in East and South-East Asia
Prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) is a priority area for achieving gender equality, and reproductive health and rights. Domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and sex selective abortions are some of the forms of gender-based violence found in the East and South-East Asia region.
Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in Asia (RHIYA) 2007
Through the EU/UNFPA Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in Asia (RHIYA), the European Commission and UNFPA have partnered with seven national governments and civil society organizations to respond to the significant challenge of addressing the rights of young people to education and sexual and reproductive health (SRH). RHIYA has pioneered unique approaches and deployed a range of innovative activities to create opportunities for young people to protect their SRH, so that they may meet their full potential.
