The incidence of gender-based violence, including domestic violence, has risen sharply around the world amid COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns and other restrictive measures, where women and children are confined all the more in the same space as their abusers.

Indian actor and filmmaker Nandita Das drives home the point in this powerful short film. In just a little over seven minutes, the film illustrates the issue through powerful storytelling - and offers a range of helplines and options for survivors to seek help.

The film was supported by UNESCO, UNFPA, UN Women and UNICEF, along with the Madanjeet Singh Foundation.
