8th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights

The Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights, or APCRSHR, is a biannual gathering of civil society, young people, academia, government officlals, media, the private sector and development partners that share concerns around sexual and reproductive health and rights across the region. 

The 8th APCRSHR will focus on generating new paradigms and strategies for action to boost reproductive and sexual health and rights across Asia and the Pacific.

From adversity to activism – Nepal earthquake transforms young persons into advocates for sexual and reproductive health and rights 

NEPAL: So Pasang Sherpa signed up to train as a youth peer educator on sexual and reproductive health and rights, and headed out to help and educate young persons who were victims of the devastating quake.

Youth and health staff going the extra mile to reduce unplanned pregnancies and STIs

This accountability applies very much to youth initiatives," a health manager of a Youth Information Centre (YIC) in Northern Shan explains. Young motherhood threatens girls in rural Cambodia

CAMBODIA: At 16 years old, Svet is struggling with the challenges of motherhood. Having dropped out of school after grade 4, she had not received any information about sexual and reproductive health, family planning, or childcare before becoming pregnant.

Phone line answers burning questions of Afghan youth  

AFGHANISTAN: "We had a case where one of the callers, a girl, was pregnant, and when she told her boyfriend about her condition, he disappeared. She was desperate when she called us, even considering committing suicide,"  

Youth in Papua New Guinea take the future in their hands 

PAPUA NEW GUINEA: Grace Lasi, dropping out of school in her teens, she has been doing voluntary work to help women and girls who face significant difficulties accessing maternal health and family planning services and unfortunately many of them die while delivering or right after giving birth.
