The 5th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR) gathered nearly 1,000 participants from around the world to look at the progress and the ongoing challenges in family planning, maternal health, AIDS prevention and women’s empowerment. APCRSHR participants agreed to Beijing's Call to Action which outlines the priorities that must be addressed to achieve the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) by 2015.

This report reflects the voices and opinions of 140 participants, including resource persons and sex workers, at the first Asia and the Pacific Regional Consultation on HIV and Sex Work, held on October 2010 in Pattaya, Thailand. It covers critical components of the HIV and sex work responses, and four key areas – namely, creating an enabling legal and policy environment, ensuring sexual and reproductive health and rights, eliminating violence against sex workers, and addressing migration and mobility in the context of HIV and sex work.

The Conference on “Advocating Universal Access to Reproductive Health Services and Commodity Security” was organized to improve the capacity of South Asian parliamentarians, media professionals and senior policymakers to advocate in a coordinated manner for a much stronger commitment to achieving MDG 5. Through the conference, delegates gained knowledge on UNFPA’s global policies on reproductive health commodity security, and increased their understanding of the relationship between achieving universal access to RH and the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
